Custom Bridal Hat
This Custom Bridal Hat was created for Bride Carolyn’s winter wedding in Seattle. The bride wanted a fun transforming piece for her first dance, inspired by the work of milliner @skullstylist on instagram. After several prototypes, we landed on a magnet system, and a headband for the base hat to attach to. The magnets were secure enough for her to dance her initial choreography, but simple enough to pull off, for an easy transformation. The lace sewn to the hat was taken from her dress for cohesion.
Aggravain's Headpiece
Queen Aggravain’s headpiece was created in collaboration with designer Savy Gerhard. After creating multiple cardstock patterns and models and discussing options with our designer, I moved to building the final product with a heavyweight Pellon stabilizer and millinery wire. The base was covered with a maroon fabric and decorated with a combination of gold trims, sewn on by hand. rhinestones were applied to the front for an additional touch of sparkle!
